Early Bird.

Can I tell you a secret?  I have been sleeping in late these past few days.  Not late as in 9..or even 10.  But more like 11...11:30.  Sheesh!  My day is half over practically (I have been working the closing shift at work...as if that is a good excuse!)!  Blah.  How awful to spend half my day sleeping!

Tomorrow is my day off.  I wish I could spend it going to the bookstore that I have been dieing to go to since I saw it over on Jenna's blog.  Unfortunately, I have already promised my day to my sister for shopping.  Perhaps I will be able to make it down on Friday... my next day off.  Or maybe I will wait until I have a full day to spend in L.A. (my friends and I are having wine night again...this time we are "traveling" to Africa!) and go to the Griffith Observatory since I have never been.

But one thing is for sure...I will not sleep late!  I hope to wake up like this tomorrow...maybe instead of tap dancing I'll go out and take some early morning pictures!  Yes, that sounds lovely indeed.

Birthdays and Weddings.

This weekend has been full of celebration.  On Saturday, my whole family got together my Meemaw's 75th birthday.  It is really hard these days getting everyone together since we are now getting old...getting married...and having kids of our own.  It was really fun getting to see everyone together again!  The weekend was full of laughing, catching up, eating, and swimming.  My favorite part was the water fight that broke out...hoses...buckets...ice water...so much fun.

Then on Sunday one of my ZTA sorority sisters had her wedding.  She and her now husband have been dating for 10 years!  It is so cool to be able to see them finally tie the knot!  Her wedding was in Pismo Beach, so my sister and I drove up together.

The drive was so beautiful, and we had a lot of fun?  If you call a bit of traffic fun...at least we got to drive along the coast!  The way back was a breeze, although I wish we could have stayed longer!  Till next time I suppose.

There are people I've only run into once.

There is my family, and mom and meemaw, and nieces, and sister, and sisters.

There are fictional characters who shape my own life.

There are people I have never met.

There are professors and other teachers who inspire me and encourage me.

Day 15: Sisters

I have 65 sisters.  Not even joking.  They are my ZTA sisters, and I love them all so much. Today is my sister squared's birthday.  She is the ripe age of 26 ye.  I have written about her before...and all those tips still hold true today.  We fight about the oddest things...but I suppose that that is what sisters do.  I remember one time we were on a family cruise vacation, and we got into a big fight.  I can't even remember what it was about, but I remember grabbing my purse... storming out of the cabin and going over to my parents suite.  Jamie calls on the phone to the room.  She tells me to look at my purse.  I accidentally took her purse instead! (An easy mistake since we had identical purses!)  It was much funnier than how it seems here.  But that was the end of our fight.  Too many fights to even write or remember.  Now for some embarrassing photos of us when we were younger....Enjoy!

She's hated me since the beginning!

One of these days I will figure out the scanner!

Day 11: 3 reasons to get out of bed tomorrow...

There are tons of reasons to get out of bed tomorrow...But I am going to list the ones that make me the most excited!

1.) There is a give away over at heart handmade...I have my eye on the journal!

2.) My Sisters Birthday is on Saturday and I have just the gift for her.  (Since she doesn't read my blog I feel safe letting you in on my surprise!)  She has had her eyes on this cookbook.  I am going to head out tomorrow and get it for her.

3.) I am also going to go out and grab a book to read for the summer. (As luck would have it, I got into the math class that I needed... so my Summer break is all of one week!)  I am undecided on what to delve into.  Any suggestions?

I would say those are some pretty good reasons to get out of bed tomorrow!

Day 9: A Typical Sunday As A Child

Wake Up! When I was younger, a typical Sunday started off with my parents insisting that we go to the early service of church.  My sister and I would always be so tired, and we never understood why we had to for to first service.  But...we did know that if we didn't get up and get ready that they would take us in our jammies.  I'm not sure now that my mom would really do that...but if I remember right I think my sister didn't get ready for school one day, and my mom took her to school in her pj's! After church we would have a donut, then head home and read the color Sunday comics.  Then depending on weather, we would either spend the rest of the day swimming, coloring, playing Barbies, or making forts.

Now today's Sunday, I woke up late.... then hung out with Lily and Emma.  Emma is rolling around the floor talking to herself, and Lily is asking 139247 questions.  I do love them a lot!

Hello! Cookie Factory!

My sister and I have this fun little game that we like to call, "Cookie Factory." It consists of us baking cookies, or anything of the related source.
When we play, here are the rules:
1.) Make something sweet (cookies, candy, etc.)
2.) Make the biggest mess you can. (This includes flour EVERYWHERE, especially on your face).
3.) This is the most important rule: When the phone rings, you have to answer, "Hello! Cookie Factory! (It's the most fun if we don't use caller I.D.)

Well, today we played cookie factory! This time, we included my sister's fiance, Brady. As well as his sister Bree, and her friend Charee who are in town this week. We made chocolate covered gummie bears and chocolate covered pretzels.
It was fun to make after watching Eco Trip, which this series first episode was about the environmental impact of chocolate and the process of making it. Not only is this show funny, and educational, but the host is really cute!

So, now we are waiting for them to harden, so that we can enjoy them. I hope everything turned out okay!

That Thing You Do!

Image found by google

So, I forgot how AMAZING this movie is! It just happened to be on today, and it reminds me of my childhood, ha! My sister and I would make fun of it so much, and in fact, that's what we are doing right now! If you haven't seen this movie, you are missing out. Stop reading this blog right now and go rent it. You will not be disappointed!
"Which one of you Butt's said we were engaged???"
"IIII I quite, I quit, I quit!"
"Villapianooooos"
"Got and threeee's?? Look's like Lenny's going fishin'"
"I am Spartacus"
"Give me something snappy something peppy"

I really do love my sister.

My sister and I have an odd relationship. These are a few things that I have learned not to do around her:
1.) Don't ask her what she is doing today more than once. She gets VERY angry.
2.) Don't eat cereal around her when you fight. It might just end up on the floor.
3.) Don't laugh like a certain relative, she will never let you live it down.
4.) Don't ever ask her to repeat what she said, no matter how MUMBLED it is!!
5.) Finally, whenever she tries to ask you for a favor...just pretend you are sleeping.
My final piece of advice is that no matter what, you CAN turn her mood around, as long as the fight ends in a hilarious manner.
