Sew day...

Sew today...I decided to make those alphabet letters that I wrote about in my last blog.  I thought that it would be too tedious to do the whole thing so I started out with one.  But it was really simple, so I have decided to make the entire set.  But, not today...another sew day.

I have the instructions, and fabric ready to go...
Of course I picked the letter "K" to start out with!

Yes, I did make that!

Finally! A DYI project that I can complete/ actually do! I found this project from the Paper n Stitch blog.  They featured these cute Pom Pom Packages.  I needed to wrap a present for my Best Friend, and I thought this would be such a cute way to do it!  I found how to make the pom poms on You Tube ( it was a little more clear than the example they gave, and it was helpful to see someone in the process of making it!), and from there it was a snap!
After I took these picures, I decided to trim up the pom poms a little.  They were just too long, and didn't look round enough for my taste!  After I trimmed them, they looked even cuter! I wish that I had more gifts that needed giving!  Next, I'd like to try Pocket Size Letterpress Sketchbook.  However, I am going to have to find some cute paper to make it out of, since I don't have any to choose from!  And, maybe make them a little bigger than the ones shown?  I'm not sure how well it will work out, but you never know until you try it...right?
Anyways, Tomorrow is Wednesday, and you know what that means...my night to cook dinner!  I am a little nervous because this recipe looks kind of...strange (I suppose that is the right word for it)?  I'll give you a hint: Roasting is involved.  I'll let you know how it goes!

I could make that...Pt. 2

Yes, part 2. Remember part 1? Well, I had asked my Grandma, and she made it look so easy! But, when it came to me making it...Well, I was left with...
That's right, bare feet! (yes, I do need a pedicure!) Here's my new "I could make that" project: Matroyshkas. Otherwise known as Russian Nesting Dolls. I received this cute little one when I was working at Disneyland:
These 2 little ladies came in and I was helping them pick out their photos. They were so sweet and didn't speak any English! After I finished helping them, they handed me this (I didn't know what they were called at the time, so I settled for Babushka, which according to Wikipedia is semi-correct) Either way, it totally made my day...week...month...entire internship (yea that sounds right). Their kindness was exactly what I needed to see in people, and encourages me to be that way to people I don't know either. So now, I am obsessed with Matroyshkas!

I could make that.

Whenever I'm out and about, sometimes I see something like a purse or other various items or hobbies, and I think, "I could make that!" A lot of times it doesn't really work out. Like the time I tried to cut my own bangs. Sometimes it does work out, but unfortunately the majority of the time it doesn't. But, I still like to try! So now, my new "I could make that" project are these slippers...My mom is always telling me to put on slippers in our FREEZING house (I just need to share that it's not just me...she turns the fan on when it is already so cold inside!), so I'm going to crochet me some slippers! Now, the only problem that I'm running into is that...I can't understand the directions! Any crocheters (is that how you spell it?) out there that can help me? I don't want it to turn out how this "I could make that" project did! Maybe I will need to call MeeMaw (how do grandma's always know everything?) to help me out in my slipper endeavor! Here goes my newest "I could make that" project!
