Disappointing Pumpkin.

I feel like I have been a horrible blogger these past couple of weeks.  Can I blame it on working alot and call it a day?  Well I have been working about 30 hours a week, which isnt too bad so I feel like I cant blame it on that.  It's not that I haven't been doing anything, I just forget to take pictures?  Still, not a good excuse.

This past weekend I carved pumpkins with some friends (We had an Italian themed wine night, and even made our own pizza!- probably not very Italian, but hey we tried).  I had really high hopes for my pumpkin.  I am not even one that really enjoys carving pumpkins...but I was so excited because I was going to put a mustache on it.  Well, it turned out horribly.  I shunned my pumpkin and refused to take a picture of it.  I think my friends took some pictures of it, but I don't even want those memories back! (Wow, am I being dramatic much?)  I hope your pumpkins turn out better than mine did!

Random Finds #8... and Day 19: The First Time I...

...have taken Summer school. Bleh. I am not a fan. I feel like I am back in High School where I have class everyday. It isn't fun. But at least it is only for five weeks...and I have already finished the first week. So really I only have four more weeks... I do have a test on Monday though...and I am not looking forward to it. 4 more weeks...4 more weeks... 4 more weeks...

Day 12: My Favorite Season... and Random Finds #7

Can I have 2 favorite seasons?

..ok?

They are Fall and Spring. I love the color of the leaves in the Fall, and the color of the flowers in the Spring. Unfortunately, Spring does not last as long as I wish it would.  It feels like only a few weeks where the flower fields next to my house stay the beautiful vibrant yellow.  I would always mean to stop and take a picture of it...but by the time I have the time..it is over already!  The weather starts to warm up in the Spring, and it is so nice to have after the long(?) winter.  But that is also why I like fall.  After the long summer, it is so nice when it starts to cool down.

Who doesn't have the extra money to buy these?

Maybe this will be the theme of my eventual dinner party.

Day 3: Generalizations are... and Random Finds #6

This is one of my favorite quotes.  It sums up a lot of notions about generalizations....and I like the play on words.  I think that sometimes generalizations are OK, for example: I generally use commas like confetti. It doesn't mean that I, always, use, a lot, of, commas, (Side note:  I turned in my final paper in class and really tried hard to not use too many commas and to use them properly, but then I got it back and there were so many commas that I needed to use!  I think I am getting the hang of it though!).  But lumping people into one way of being is not the way to use generalization.  For myself I know that this is hard to catch in some instances when it would be easier to generalize...But I think that I am getting better at this more than I am for my comma usage!

I'm going to add this book to my reading list for Summer.

(I'd really like the collectible version of the book, but $100 seems a little steep for a book.  Apparently I like depressing books...considering The Jungle is one of my favorites I suppose that it speaks for itself...)

If you haven't yet, read this book.  It is one of my new favorites.
